Today (wednesday the 11th of march, 2009)William Packard, a great man, father of 5, grandfather of 16, my grandfather, died.
If you guys have been reading my blogs you would know that he was told recently that he had cancer, and that he had three months at best.
up until last sunday it seemed he was going to last those three months, but he went downhill fast.
for the last three days the whole family has been by his side (and im talking about 20 odd people) making sure that he did not have one moment alone. Even when it got to the stage that he did not respond to anything, and it was a struggle to just breath..
It was a hard site to see, but at least he is out of pain now. the last site i saw of him was in his best short shorts (which he was known for wearing) his favourite top that he got from one of his many journeys around the world, and a pair of thongs that he has had for as long as i can remember. It was the Bill that the world knew.
